Data Collection

We collect information necessary to provide and improve our polling service. This includes:

  • Slack workspace information
  • User interaction data with polls
  • Usage statistics and analytics
  • Account and billing information for premium users

Data Usage

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and maintain the polling service
  • Improve user experience
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send important service updates and notifications

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. This includes encryption, secure data storage, and regular security audits.

Data Deletion Rights

We respect your right to control your data. You can request the deletion of your personal data collected through our Polls for Slack application in two ways:

  1. Via Email Request
    • Send your deletion request to support@pollsforslack.com
    • Include your Slack workspace name and user name in the email
    • We will process your request within 30 days and send confirmation once complete
  2. Via Application Interface (Coming Soon)
    • Direct data deletion through our application interface will be available in an upcoming release

Please note that some data may be retained if required by law or for legitimate business purposes. This includes:

  • Anonymized data used for analytics
  • Information required for legal compliance

Data Retention

Personal data is collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes and kept for no longer than necessary for the purposes of processing. Here's how long we retain different types of data:

  1. Poll Data
    • Active polls and their responses are retained as long as the polls remain active
    • Archived or closed polls are automatically deleted after 180 days
  2. User Account Data
    • Basic account information is kept while your account is active
    • Inactive accounts are automatically deleted after 12 months of no activity
  3. Usage Analytics
    • Raw usage data is deleted after 90 days

When data reaches the end of its retention period, it is automatically and securely deleted from our systems. You can request earlier deletion of your data as outlined in our Data Deletion Rights section.
